Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are striking back at an ex-bodyguard who made sensationalistic claims about the couple to the press. "The West Family will no longer tolerate the spreading and selling of fake stories in an desperate, transparent and shameless attempt for publicity at their expense," a rep for the couple told Complex. "This sad, parasitic maniac has violated every basic human tenet of decency with his story of lies. As such, the Wests will explore all legal means at their disposal to silence this nonsense."

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Steve Stanulis called Kanye "probably the most self-absorbed person I've met in my entire life" and claimed he had been fired for talking to Kim at the 2016 Met Gala. He also went on record claiming Kanye was a control freak, saying he wouldn't speak to his staff directly, and offering a number of other unsavory characterizations of the couple. He later claimed that they had forged his signature on a nondisclosure agreement, the contents of which stipulate that he would be on the hook for $10 million per interview he gave about them.

A source close to the situation refuted Stanulis' claims about the NDA, saying, "The claim that his signature on the Confidentiality Agreement is forged is ridiculous and just another desperate attempt by him to escape responsibility for his own wrongful actions."

The source also says Stanulis was never fired—or even a full-time employee of the couple. Rather, he was hired as a third party by the couple's regular security for a few occasions in New York.
