It doesn't look like Freddie Gibbs will be extradited to Austria immediately and according to a statement from his lawyer, Gibbs will officially be appealing the extradition order handed down by a French judge last week over rape allegations against him from 2015. In the meantime, "he will continue to abide by all terms and conditions set by the Court as he pursues every available avenue to demonstrate he is absolutely innocent and has been belatedly and wrongly accused." As the statement points out, Gibbs has not yet been charged with anything, but is wanted for questioning in Austria in connection to the alleged rape. He maintains his innocence and hopes the prosecutor will decide not to move forward with the case.

Gibbs was arrested minutes before a scheduled concert in Toulouse, France on June 4. He has since been released after posting $55,000 bail. However, he must remain in the country and—if his appeal fails—will be extradited to Austria to be questioned.
