Lil Yachty is in communication with Tay-K, who is currently serving a 55-year sentence for murder and robbery charges after he was found guilty in 2019 of the murder of 21-year-old Ethan Walker.

On Monday, Yachty took to his Instagram Stories to reveal he received a letter from the incarcerated rapper.

“Real n***a @tayk47shawty," Yachty captioned a photo of a USPS box containing Tay-K's letter. It's unclear what the letter said, though it's not the first time Yachty has lent his support to the incarcerated rapper.

Back in 2017, Yachty hopped on a remix of Tay-K's breakout hit "The Race," which peaked at No. 44 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the summer of 2017.

Back in March, Tay-K shared a letter with fans in which he expressed his desire to become a role model, one who strives to not promote violence.

"I’m sitting here thinking about all my fans. I love and miss y’all,” he wrote in the handwritten letter. “I know there’s a lot that I haven’t directly spoke on and there R many things my fans know but I’m not sure everybody else does. I’ve been here for 5 ½ years now and I feel indebted to y’all for going so crazy behind me. It’s still crazy to me that I never had a chance to live outside as an adult. I’ve been locked up and in and out of the 'justice' and CPS system 4 my whole life."
