Lil Durk Shares Message to People Shaming Rappers and Athletes for Rocking Fake Jewelry

Several months after issuing a warning to people buying jewelry, Lil Durk is now addressing those who shame rappers for rocking items that are fake. The Chicago rapper took to Instagram to tell people that rappers or athletes shouldn’t be the ones blamed for having bogus jewelry.

“Don’t blame the rapper or athletes nomo,” Durkio wrote. “Blame the jeweler for selling them that bogus ass shit.”

It isn’t the first time Durk has commented on jewelers allegedly scamming their customers. Back in September, Durk sent out a warning to anyone buying jewelry.

“Stop buying all this jewelry without knowing what you doing,” he wrote on his Instagram Story. “Alot of the shit fake and some is over priced.” Durk also reminded those in the jewelry market to “get 1 jeweler and stick to em I’m telling you y’all ass gone be pissed when the truth come out.”

On the music side, Durk is set to drop his new album 7220 later this month on March 11. The project will mark Durk’s first new project since he collaborated with Lil Baby on 2021’s The Voice of the Heroes, while also serving as the follow-up to his sixth studio album, 2020’s The Voice.

Last week, the Chicago rapper dropped the video for his new track “AHHH HA,” releasing the visual alongside what is presumed to be the cover art for his next full-length offering. In the Instagram post, Durk announced that the album would be pushed back from its initial Feb. 22 release date to March 11.
