Drake and 21 Savage appear to be trolling Anna Wintour over last year's lawsuit involving the two rappers and Vogue's publisher.
The latest stop on Drake and 21's It's All A Blur Tour included an unflattering hologram of the Vogue editor-in-chief. Though no one has officially confirmed that the AI-generated image is in fact trying to represent Wintour, it's pretty obvious as it features the fashion mogul's signature haircut and sunglasses.
The news arrives several months after Drake and 21 shared a fake October 2022 issue of Vogue with their images splashed across the cover and pages. The fake magazine pictures dropped ahead of the release of the pair's collaborative album, Her Loss.
“Me and my brother on newsstands tomorrow,” Drizzy initially wrote of the Vogue covers on Instagram back in October. “Thanks @voguemagazine and Anna Wintour for the love and support on this historic moment Her Loss Nov 4th.”
Condé Nast, Vogue's publisher, subsequently filed a lawsuit against Drake and 21, seeking $4 million in damages. In February, both sides reached a settlement, with Condé Nast securing a permanent injunction prohibiting the use of Vogue trademarks for commercial purposes.
“As a creative company, we of course understand our brands may from time to time be referenced in other creative works,” Condé Nast general counsel Will Bowes wrote at the time. “In this instance, however, it was clear to us that Drake and 21 Savage leveraged Vogue’s reputation for their own commercial purposes and, in the process, confused audiences who trust Vogue as the authoritative voice on fashion and culture.”
