Diddy Reassigns Publishing Rights to Bad Boy Artists Including Faith Evans, Ma$e, the Lox, and More

Diddy is reassigning Bad Boy Records' publishing rights to the artists and songwriters who built the label into a powerhouse.

As reported by Billboard, the artists who've already signed agreements include the estate of the Notorious B.I.G., Mase, The LOX, Faith Evans, 112, and "many more."

While Bad Boy has yet to disclose details surrounding the deal, the assets are said to be worth hundreds of millions of dollars. “Combs sees it as part of a broader goal of promoting economic empowerment for Black artists and culture,” a source said.

The news arrives days after Cam'ron revealed that Mase would be getting his publishing rights back from Diddy.

"My n***a murder had to sit this one out," he wrote in an Instagram post last month. "He just got his publishing back from Puff. Just finished the paper work for that yesterday. Congrats @rsvpmase."

“When we had this situation, we knew that we couldn’t win financially, in litigation, in court. The little bit of pennies we had at that time would’ve been gone after two court dates…The only power we got is the streets,” Jada explained.

He continued, “Once we decided to go against [Diddy], he had the power to block us from ever putting a song out ever again. We didn’t have no leverage — really besides the street. We had mixtapes, we had people behind us who thought we would be great artists in the future…If we gonna do it, let’s do it. But just know, it could go all the way bad.”
