During an appearance on DJ Akademiks Off the Record podcast, Bobby Shmurda was asked if he’d rather have a feature from the late Pop Smoke or Jay-Z.

While posing the question, Akademiks said that the hypothetical Pop Smoke collaboration would be a “smash” and that the “whole New York City gonna love.”

“Your nephews, they gonna be going crazy to it,” Akademiks explained. “Dancing all day; the hood gonna go crazy for it.”

He continued by offering another option, “Or… it’s a song with Hov.”

It didn’t take long before the Brooklyn rapper gave his answer. “Pop Smoke,” Shmurda said without any hesitation. “That’s my little n**a,” he added. “I like it. I love Jay too, but I like it.”

In other news, Shumurda is gearing up to release his first full-length project since his release from prison last February.

The Brooklyn rapper took to Instagram last week to announce his first independent release, They Don’t Know, which he said is dropping on April 29.

When one fan suggested that Bobby wait to put out his next offering, Shmurda went on to call out labels for “blackballing” him.

“I got major labels jumping me, blackballing me and shittttt,” he wrote in the comment section of his IG post. “And I’m from the hood young and rich black as shittt and don’t give a [laughing emoji] about both. And they scared of me and I love that ishhh. I’m only 27, one year fresh Outta six years they got 400 employees. Tell them boys stop playing me Homieee. And I do no marketing that all my shit natural ahhhhh I’m gone”
