Multi-platinum R&B artist Omarion is back in release mode, dropping his new single “The One” in partnership with Create Music Group as the lead offering from his upcoming studio album O2. The release arrives just as the singer closes the chapter on a busy touring run.
Produced by Pharrell Williams, “The One” reworks the melodic foundation of the classic track, “Beautiful,” into an upbeat R&B track centered on clarity in love and emotional connection. The record leans into Omarion’s signature smooth delivery while updating a familiar sonic palette, positioning it as both a callback and a forward step.
The single is accompanied by a music video directed by acclaimed cinematographer Anthony Kimata, which moves across Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York City, and features a voiceover cameo from Jess Hilarious.
The visual highlights regional dance styles and street culture, weaving in appearances from Omarion’s children, Megaa and A’mei, and it closes with a choreographed line dance designed for social media.
Speaking on the release, Omarion acknowledged the legacy behind the track’s foundation. “Shout out to the legends Pharrell and Snoop Dogg for clearing the path,” he said in a statement, according to You Know I Got Soul, adding that the goal of “The One” is to “bring us all together.”
The rollout follows the completion of the 2026 The Boys 4 Life Tour, which featured B2K and Bow Wow. The tour, designed as a callback to Millennial-era R&B, leaned heavily into nostalgia, drawing packed crowds in cities like Washington, D.C., and Atlanta with “hits-only” sets and high-energy performances.
Reviews, such as from the Chicago Tribune, noted strong crowd engagement and consistent stage chemistry, though some stops received mixed feedback, with critics describing portions of the show as uneven.
A Pittsburgh date was also canceled due to low ticket sales, and Jeremih exited the lineup earlier due to health concerns.
