Last year, Young Dolph claimed he turned down a $22 million record deal, after which he signed a partnership deal with Empire the same month. He later went on to release his Role Model record through that label. But now it seems as though that relationship has turned sour.

Posting on his Twitter, Dolph said, "The record label been bushittin [sic]. They want [sic] let me drop any new music." He went on to add that he regrets signing the deal, before straight up threatening to leak his next album. "Ima leak this mudafuka. FUK EM!"

Clarifying his comments, he tweeted about the situation soon after "I have a confession. I signed 2 deals in 2018 and signed a deal in 2015," he admitted. "So now that it's out that I'm not some big indepednent superstar, and I've signed 4 deals like everyone else. I wonder if all the rappers gonna stop hatin now. Sorry for shittin on u guys knowing dam well I got a major deal."

It's unclear if the label Dolph is referring to is the very same Paper Route Empire that he signed with last year, but clearly he's not happy with his current situation. Complex reached out for comment with Dolph's representatives, but did not receive a response at the time of writing.
