Usher Claims He Was Hacked After Deleting All His Tweets: ‘Damn Y’all Ran With It’

Some speculated that the social media purge was due to his relationship with Diddy.

Usher left his fans confused after he wiped a lot of his tweets from his X, formerly Twitter, account and claimed he was the victim of hacking.

On Sunday, Sept. 22, social media sleuths noticed that his page on the social media platform appeared to be blank with nothing indicating why he might have removed most of his posts. After much speculation, Usher addressed the absence of his posts and claimed his account was hacked.

"Account got hacked and damn y’all ran with it!" he wrote alongside laughing emojis. "See you tonight at Intuit Dome."

It appears as though the majority of his posts have since been restored, which would suggest that, if he was hacked, the team over at X worked on replacing whatever was removed. It's common for artists to wipe their social media pages before releasing new music, especially on Instagram, but it's not been long since he dropped his ninth studio album, Coming Home.

Some speculated that the purge was related to Diddy, whom he met when he was 13. The disgraced Bad Boy Records founder, who was arrested last week on sex trafficking and racketeering charges, went on to produce Usher's debut studio album.

Of course, it could be that he was hacked and his account was held at ransom until it was restored, at which point administrators on X locked the account to prevent the hackers from tweeting anything out. Or, alternatively, perhaps the posts vanishing was a glitch. We all know the site hasn't been working as well ever since Elon Musk took over and replaced the majority of the staff, anyway.
