Iconic hip-hop trio The LOX brought a set full of classics while backed for the first time by a full band on NPR's Tiny Desk Concert series.
The three rappers—Jadakiss, Styles P, and Sheek Louch—didn't miss a beat in their expansive set, touching on tracks from the entirety of their 30-year career. They opened up their set with a touch of "All the Love" before switching to the DJ Premier-produced "Recognize" from their second studio album, We Are the Streets. Other highlights include a performance of Styles P's "Good Times (I Get High)" and Jadakiss' "By Your Side."
About halfway through the set, they introduced a small string section, which perfectly complemented "Money, Power & Respect" and "We Gonna Make It," a fantastic closer that showed the three rappers at their most locked-in.
The LOX are currently on tour to celebrate their 30th anniversary, with dates set to run until December with a closing show at Portland, Maine's State Theatre. Tickets for the tour can be purchased here.
The NPR-produced Tiny Desk Concert series has been particularly good for hip-hop fans this year. Back in March, Big Sean delivered a loaded 14-song performance, while Jeezy kicked off the year strong with an expansive set in February.
