T-Pain has had himself an incredibly productive year, keeping fans fed with a number of projects. The singer and rapper hasn't had the best time with his former manager, though, as The Blast reports that he's suing his former personal manager for $1 million for allegedly taking higher commissions than what was agreed upon from T-Pain for years.

According to the court documents that have surfaced, T-Pain has sued Chase Entertainment Corporation, his former management company. He initially signed with the company back in 2005, and eventually extended his contract for five years in 2009. In exchange for managing him, the talent agency was to take 20 percent commission from all of his music and endorsement deals.

Over time, he says "a relationship developed in which Plaintiff placed his full faith and trust” in the managers, who “promised to protect him and advise his career decisions.” T-Pain paid the commissions before he found out they were not licensed to be an agent, so in 2014, he fired his manager and told them to stop interfering with his endeavors. The manager reportedly failed to turn over the money owed relating to the matter.

T-Pain is seeking $1 million in damages and the return of all the commissions he paid the company since 2005, accusing the company of taking illegal commissions without obtaining a talent license. The lawsuit alleges they were "concealing from Plaintiff the true nature and details of the financial agreements related to his music career, including the income truly earned by him from his public performances and the necessary and proper expenses occurred in connection with same and marketing monies received by Defendant on behalf of Plaintiff’s career.”
