Soulja Boy Rips DJ Akademiks for Saying Rappers Who Enter Streaming Are ‘Lame’

Soulja Boy also claimed that he's the first rapper to stream on Twitch.

After DJ Akademiks said rappers getting into the world of streaming are “lame” and “corny,” Soulja Boy had some choice words for him.

“Akademiks, you need to fix your tweets, n***a,” Soulja Boy said during a recent livestream. “Talking ‘bout, all the rappers is lame ‘cause they streaming and all that… Shut the fuck up with your fat, Uber Eats, McDonald’s-eating ass, 50 Krabby Patties stuffing down your stomach, bitch. You lame, ain’t no fucking body lame, n***a. Shut the fuck up, n***as can stream if they want to. Fuck is you talking ‘bout? Fat piece of shit.”

Soulja Boy, who recently had some choice words for Blueface and his financial situation, also claimed he was the first rapper on Twitch. While he loves to say that he's the "first rapper" to do various things, Soulja might be right in this case, as he used to stream on the Twitch precursor, Justin.tv, in the late '00s.

“I don’t like the way you been tweeting,” he continued. “Akademiks, you fat hot dog-eating bitch… N****s will smack the shit out your fatass, talking ‘bout some Carti and YB… Don’t forget you got banned on Twitch, we ain’t gonna talk about that, Akademiks. … N***a, punch you in your chest and you gonna cough up a chicken nugget. … How we lame because we wanna get some Twitch money. I was the first rapper on Twitch, I feel like you’re calling me lame.”

His comments come not long after Akademiks shared a series of posts on X, formerly Twitter, in which he suggested that the internet has removed all the “mystique” from rappers. “If I signed a rapper I’d forbid them from going on any streamer platform,” he wrote. “Every time I see a rapper on a stream I’m reminded… dis n***a lame like me he just won the lottery. … 2025 exposed all our fav cool rappers besides YB and Carti n a few more as being lame asf. … They just like us … w/ a lil more money n clout.”

Last week, Akademiks said during a stream that he believes “rappers are competing with streamers,” and mentioned how several popular streamers, such as Kai Cenat, Adin Ross, and N3on have done streams with rappers. “When they were chasing numbers, they all went to streamers. You've got to understand, the rapper collab with the streamers is what got these guys to record levels of clout,” he said.
