LaShawn Daniels, the Grammy Award-winning songwriter behind countless hits, has reportedly passed away at age 41.

LaShawn Daniels, the Grammy Award-winning songwriter behind countless hits, has reportedly passed away at age 41. Per the Independent, a cause of death has yet to be determined. Daniels was behind some huge songs throughout the years, including Monica's "The Boy Is Mine," Destiny's Child's "Say My Name," Lady Gaga's "Telephone," and Michael Jackson's "You Rock My World."

Affectionately known by collaborators and fans of his penmanship as Big Shiz, Daniels had an impressive career that spanned over two decades. Among others, he worked with Whitney Houston, Jennifer Lopez, Brandy Norwood, Alicia Keys, Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige, George Michael, the Spice Girls, 50 Cent, and Tamar Braxton. Daniels won a Grammy in 2000 for "Say My Name."

In response to the news, fans of LaShawn's work flooded Twitter with their condolences to his family. "The entire music community is feeling the loss of one of the greatest to ever do it," tweeted Kirk Franklin. "We was supposed go crazy next week," said Kehlani. "Appreciate you for fuckin' with me OG... Your legacy will never be forgotten!"
