Fresh off his acquisition of the legendary Death Row Records last month, Snoop Dogg has teased fans with a picture of him and Dr. Dre in the studio.

“The Chronic is bac home,” Snoop wrote alongside the photo.

His post comes after Dre’s debut album The Chronic vanished from streaming services, as did most of the Death Row releases outside of Tidal. It’s unclear if this means the record is coming back to streaming or if they’re working on new material together. Complex has reached out to representatives for Snoop Dogg for clarification.

The fate of Dr. Dre’s The Chronic has been unclear since Snoop purchased Death Row, as it was reported shortly after the news that his deal reportedly doesn’t include any of 2Pac or Dre’s albums through the label. Snoop has since suggested he’ll be able to “work something out” with Pac’s estate, and that he’s already secured The Chronic at least.

Dre’s attorney released a statement refuting Snoop’s claims and said Dre owns the record, but it seems the Doggfather and the N.W.A alum are working on something. “There are false reports out regarding ownership by Death Row of Dr. Dre’s The Chronic,” said attorney Howard King in a statement provided to Complex. “Dr. Dre owns 100 percent of The Chronic.”

Billboard previously reported that The Chronic is set to return to Dre’s ownership in 2023, which “could give Snoop Dogg time to negotiate with Dr. Dre to try and keep the album on the label, even if it’s only through a distribution deal.”
