Selena Gomez sat down to share her "At Home" playlist with Zane Lowe on Apple Music on Monday, and she spoke about what she learned from working with Kid Cudi. The two unleashed their collaborative track "A Sweeter Place" at the start of the year, and it would appear the song has lead to a fruitful friendship. In fact, Gomez revealed to Lowe that Cudi introduced her to a lot of female rappers.

"He actually has incredible taste. I think, that's one of my favorite parts of him. When we hang out he'll play all kinds of... from Ratatat to... I mean, he's the one who really has me listening to Da Brat, Missy Elliott, all of these, Eve, all of these female rappers," Gomez said of Cudi. "Like, he started to kind of show me a little bit. Even though I already knew. Growing up I can have this idea... the music I grew up with my dad. But to have an appreciation now and see how females... back then it was definitely a lot harder and they also... I mean, they're royalty."

When their collaborative track "A Sweeter Place" first dropped, Gomez showered Cudi with praise. "It was an honor and I felt like I've known him my whole life," she explained. She also revealed that the song was first sent to Cudi without her permission by someone from her team, but ultimately "it worked out" and he "turned it into something unbelievable."

Elsewhere in her interview with Zane Lowe, Gomez also opened up about her love for Billie Eilish's "Everything I Ever Wanted." She said when she first heard that song she cried. "She deserved every single thing that she got and has," she added. "She's an amazing, amazing artist." But she also took a moment to show love to her frequenst collaborator Taylor Swift, too, calling her "one of the greatest songwriters."
