Following the news of Beyoncé's mother Tina Knowles' divorce from Richard Lawson, who she married in 2015, Twitter users have expressed shock after they stumbled across the posts he was liking on the social media platform.
It appeared as though Lawson was using his account to actively like pornography. A very explicit screen recording showed that his @MrRichardLawson account hadn't liked just one pornographic video, like the noted fan of smut Ted Cruz, but many videos. Needless to say, many were shocked by what they saw and some wish they never looked to begin with.
Not long after people noticed that he was on a liking spree of pornography, Lawson appeared to respond by deactivating his Twitter account.
One individual, as seen below, was disappointed they weren't able to judge his taste in pornography before he deleted his account.
The 69-year-old Knowles filed for divorce from the 76-year-old actor on Wednesday.
The two began their relationship in 2013 but met decades prior. "When I first met Tina, she was pregnant with Beyoncé. ... I thought she was one of the prettiest women I’d ever seen in my life," Lawson said in a 2019 interview. "She was even more beautiful inside. She had a very quiet, beautiful spirit. ... She was married and we respected that. We were friends over the years. I went to Houston for the Shakespeare festival in the park in the ’80s. I brought [actress daughter Bianca Lawson] with me and she stayed at Tina’s house and she took care of Bianca with Beyoncé. ... When Beyoncé’s career took off, I didn’t see Tina much for a period of time. Six or so years ago we reconnected."
Tina was previously married to Matthew Knowles—with whom she had Beyoncé and Solange—from 1980 to 2011. Lawson was previously married to Denise Gordy.
