Polo G Arrested for Weapons Possession, Loaded Gun Found Inside His Manhattan Hotel Room

Polo G has been arrested in Manhattan after a maid allegedly found a loaded firearm inside his hotel room.

As reported by PIX11, the Chicago rapper was arrested on criminal possession of a weapon and possession of a loaded firearm charges on Wednesday, April 10 after authorities executed a search warrant at The Dominick Hotel in Manhattan. When police were called to the hotel, they discovered a black Glock inside the room. The firearm had nine bullets in the magazine and one in the chamber. The 25-year-old was arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court on Thursday.

In court on Thursday, per The New York Post, his attorney Stacey Richman said, "This man is 100 percent serious in terms of his work, in terms of his professionalism. He has absolutely no incentive to flee because he has a career he’s built." Prosecutors accused Polo G of being a flight risk due to his previous arrests. He was hit with $25,000 cash bail, which he posted shortly after. He will appear in court again on June 4.

Last year, Polo G was arrested twice in less than 24 hours on assault, robbery, and kidnapping charges. He was arrested alongside his brother Trench Baby, real name Taurean Bartlett, and they were both released after posting $100,000 bail each. In 2021, meanwhile, he was arrested after a concealed firearm was found on the Hall of Fame rapper. Those charges were eventually dropped after he attended an anger management program.

Last year, Polo G's brother Trench Baby was charged with felony murder over the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Dashaun Berry.
