Premiere: Nuski2Squad Taps G Herbo and Yungeen Ace for Emotional "Live On (Thuggin Days)" Remix Video

To coincide with the arrival of 'Lil Nuski,' rising St. Louis rapper Nuski2Squad has enlisted G Herbo and Yungeen Ace for the “Live On (Thuggin Days)” video.

To coincide with the arrival of his new project Lil Nuski, rising St. Louis rapper Nuski2Squad has enlisted G Herbo and Yungeen Ace for the “Live On (Thuggin Days)” remix video.

Produced by Cinematic Music Group founder Jonnyshipes, the remixed track opens the release, and the video—premiering above—puts a visual to the pained verses. Focusing on racial injustice and police brutality, the hard-hitting “Live On (Thuggin Days)” makes it clear why Nuski has continued to gain traction. Directed by Carrington—the brother of police brutality victim Jacob Blake, who was shot six times in the back by a cop last year—the video acts as a reminder of how America still has a mountain of work to do when it comes to tackling racism and abuse of power.

“When I was crafting the treatment for the ‘Live On’ Remix music video, I prayed after I heard the song. Instantly an idea came to mind that I knew would initiate dialogue, thoughts, and the possibility of change,” Carrington told Complex of the video. “I began thinking about my brother and how he was brutally shot by police. Many times the victims of police brutality see their stories and encounters get swept under the rug and left to fade from the public’s consciousness. Although I didn’t film it exactly how the events transpired that day, I took the key parts of his and other victims experiences of social injustices and police brutality. I wanted their stories to ‘Live On.’”
