NLE Choppa and His Mother Respond to Child Neglect Allegations From Exes

In court documents, Marissa Da'Nae accused the rapper of neglecting their two-year-old child. Another ex made a similar complaint on social media.

NLE Choppa and his mother, Angela Potts, have responded to accusations from his ex-girlfriends, Marisa Da’Nae and Mariah, that the rapper has been neglecting his children.

In a post shared on his Instagram account, Choppa shared a video of himself brushing his five-year-old daughter Clover’s hair — a post that seemed to be addressed at claims made last week by the child's mother, Mariah.

“Ne•Glect: (Verb) Fail To Care For Properly. (Noun) The State Or Fact Of Being Uncared For. Looks like neglect to me,” he wrote alongside a laughing emoji and two hearts. “PS: This toothbrush is designated ONLY for her hair!”

Choppa’s mother, Angeleta Potts, also shared a video of Choppa with his daughter and his two-year-old son, ChoZen Wone Da'Shun Potts, whom he shares with Marisa Da’Nae.

“Let that man continue to be a good father just like y’all are good mothers,” she wrote. “Kids need both parents. Y’all all can agree to disagree and continue to be great parents like you are now. All this bashing is unnecessary. Have a blessed day.”

She also later shared a carousel of images showing Choppa with both of his children. “Always grateful,” she wrote in the caption.

Last month, Da’Nae, accused the rapper of sexual and emotional abuse, and neglecting their two-year-old son. The two have been engaged in a custody battle since July after he filed a petition to gain primary custody of ChoZen. In her filing responding to his, she claimed that he had “not been a consistent parent” and that he subjected her to “emotional and physical abuse throughout their relationship and specifically throughout her pregnancy."

On social media, she accused him of taking him to court over a child “he doesn’t even call,” and that the situation was making her angry.

“Yeah trying to take me to court for a child he barely see,” she wrote. “A child he had fasting at 1 year old. Saying a child didn’t need to eat 3 times a day. Kids come home starving.” She is seeking primary physical custody of ChoZen, too.

Mariah, in a social media post shared on Saturday (Oct. 4), also accused NLE Choppa of “starving” their daughter Clover.
