Health officials in New Jersey have issued a warning for anyone who attended Shakira’s concert at MetLife Stadium on Thursday, May 15.
As reported by WABC, the New Jersey Health Department said that anyone who attended the concert last week could have been exposed to measles because of an infected non-New Jersey attendee. Those who went have been told to remain vigilant if they suspect any symptoms, including a high fever, cough, watery eyes, runny nose and a rash.
If anyone who went to the show believes that they have been infected with measles, they are advised to contact a health provider immediately instead of going to a hospital. The latest anyone infected is expected to develop these symptoms is June 6, the Department of Health added.
Per the Department of Health's website, there is no ongoing community spread of measles in New Jersey. There have only been three reported cases in 2025, all of which were traced to a single household outbreak.
During Shakira's May 15 show at MetLife Stadium, the Colombian singer brought out Ozuna to sing their 2022 collaboration, "Monotonia." The track was her first new release following the end of her 11-year-long relationship with Gerard Piqué. While the tour was scheduled to kick off last November, it was postponed to this year due to "unprecedented fan demand."
