Megan Thee Stallion and DaBaby have both had a huge year, breaking through into the mainstream with tracks like "Hot Girl Summer" and "Suge" respectively. One of those tracks turned up on the full list of 2020 Grammy nominations, but it wasn't the Best New Artist award many were hoping to see both competing for.

Among those to get a Best New Artist nomination were Black Pumas, Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X, Lizzo, Maggie Rogers, Rosalía, Tank and the Bangas, and Yola. Megan did not pick up any nominations, let alone a Best New Artist nod. DaBaby did, however, land himself Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance nominations for "Suge."

Fans couldn't help but wonder aloud why Megan and DaBaby failed to earn Best New Artist nods.
