Mariah Carey Addresses Anderson .Paak Relationship Speculation, Dodges Nick Cannon Question

"He just likes to hold my hand," Carey said when asked about the rumors by Gayle King.

In an interview with Gayle King for CBS Mornings, Mariah Carey was asked about the rumors she's dating Anderson .Paak and dodged speaking about her ex-husband, Nick Cannon.

Carey has been rumored to be romantically linked with .Paak since last year, and they've stopped short of confirming anything ever since. The two have been recording music together, but when asked about it by King about what's going on with them she commented on how they've been seen holding hands in public. "He just likes to hold my hand. He just grabs my hand—I don’t know what he’s doing," she said.

King attempted to get more of an answer from her, asking if they were just friends or collaborators. "He's a hand-holding club," she said. "That's what it is." King highlighted that he attended at the Mariah at Christmas last year, and Carey replied, "He enjoyed it."

Later in the interview, she was asked how she's been handling co-parenting with her ex-husband Nick Cannon, and she appeared to dodge the question. "I kind of feel like it's best if I don't talk about him, because he can just be in his own world," she continued. "No offense to him." The former couple share two children, but Cannon has his hands full with all the other children he has.

Earlier this year, .Paak spoke about what it was like to be working with Carey in the studio. "I remember in like fifth grade or something, watching the music videos and having a huge crush,” he said. “We’re working on some music on her new album.”

Sources told US Weekly that they are dating, despite them both dodging a confirmation. "Mariah and Anderson are dating, they met working last summer and he has always been a huge fan and looked up to her,” claimed the source. “Their dates have been very far apart because of schedules, but it’s been going on a few months.”
