In one of his most bizarre public sightings yet, the artist formerly known as Kanye West made an appearance during a Pro Wrestling NOAH show in Tokyo.
Ye—who recently wrapped up his second performance in China and announced a new album tentatively titled Bully—attended a NOAH event in Tokyo on Monday, Sept. 30. At one point during the match, wrestler La Dinastia Wagner spotted Ye in the crowd, pointed to him, and approached to give a quick fist bump to him and the unidentified man sitting next to him.
But he wasn't the only wrestler who got in on the action. In another clip shared by a fan, Ye was seen grinning as Los Golpeadores, Super Crazy, and Daga passed by to dap him up.
The official account for Pro Wrestling NOAH also gave a shout-out to Ye following the event.
It’s unclear what Ye is doing in Japan—whether for leisure or work—but his appearance at the wrestling show comes not long after a pair of shows in China. During the second show, he announced that he has a new album on the way titled Bully, although he did not indicate when the album will arrive. Fans familiar with Ye's previous antics know that he has a tendency to announce projects that never materialize, like TurboGrafx 16 and Yandhi.
“I got a new album coming out,” Ye told a crowd in Haikou, China, which he followed by performing a new song. "The album is called Bully and this song is called 'Beauty and the Beast.'"
It's worth noting that Ye also promised a third installment of Vultures, his collaborative album with Ty Dolla Sign.
