On Wednesday, Megan Thee Stallion surprised fans with the release of the "Savage" remix featuring Beyoncé. The original track appeared on Meg's project Suga, which had issues leading up to its arrival as her label 1501 Certified Ent. attempted to block its release due to a contract dispute.

Despite the situation, 1501 head J. Prince offered his congratulations to Megan for landing Bey on her track, of which the proceeds will go to charity.

"Big respect to @1501_certified_ent @300ent JAY-Z @beyonce and Megan @thestallion," Prince wrote on instagram. "In spite of lawsuits that are taking place, we all have come together on one accord for the purpose of helping those in need during this pandemic, by contributing proceeds from the 'Savage' remix featuring Beyoncé to the Bread of Life charity. This how I love to see the powers of H-Town, united, at its best! Texas stand up!"

TMZ reports that the collaboration, which made Megan cry of happiness in a video she shared, had to be cleared by J. Prince before it could be released. Sourced indicated he had to sign off on it because the label paid for production, which means 1501 had to agree to give up profits and royalties to charity. Meg's currently in the middle of a lawsuit against 1501 and Prince, with her attempting to get out of her record contract. She has also accused him of bullying her and others signed to the label.

All proceeds from the "Savage" remix will benefit Bread of Life's Houston COVID-19 relief efforts, which BeyGOOD recently announced a $6 million donation to in partnership with Jack Dorsey's #startsmall.
