Premiere: Hit-Boy and B. CaRR Link Up for "Start It Up" Video

Hit-Boy might be best known for his production, but he's proven time and time again that he's worth paying attention to as a rapper, too.

Following the release of the hard-hitting Big Sean collaboration "Bezerk" last month, Hit-Boy is back with a new B. CaRR collaboration called "Start It Up."

"It’s a new West Coast sound in my opinion but it’s reminiscent of some Eazy-E/N.W.A. vibe," Hit-Boy explained to Complex. "It all started with B. CaRR he laid the foundation with the beat and his verse then I added a verse and some extra production to it and mixed it." Check out the David Camarena-directed video up top.

"Start It Up" is the first single from Hit-Boy's upcoming solo project, which is due out soon. He's also got a compilation album coming in early 2020.

In a recent interview with Complex, Hit-Boy opened up about how he drifted from the public eye before returning big-time over the past year. "Ultimately, I feel like I was doing too much," he said. "To forward the conversation [to the present], I feel like I'm almost in a second life. I've been able to get a restart, and the restart is me producing multiple songs on records and doing whole records. The first part of my plan is: I got known off just doing one or two songs on motherfucker's albums; now it's just about advancing that sound." He's turned up on Travis Scott's ASTROWORLD, Ariana Grande's Sweetener, and Juice WRLD's Death Race for Love recently.
