Fetty Wap appeared in federal court in Long Island on Monday and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess and distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine, Complex can confirm.

New York Post federal court reporter Ben Feuerherd was the first to reveal the news on Twitter. He added that the rapper’s attorney stressed, “He is not cooperating, I want that to be very, very clear. This is a standard plea.” The charge carries a minimum mandatory sentence of five years in prison, and a maximum sentence of 40.

Fetty’s estimated sentencing is somewhere between 87 to 108 months behind bars, which is between seven and nine years. A sentencing date has yet to be announced, and he remains in custody.

Fetty Wap, real name Willie Junior Maxwell II, was arrested back in October 2021 on the federal drug charges, which accused him of participating in a drug trafficking ring spanning across the United States. Him and various other individuals allegedly obtained over 100 kilograms of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and crack cocaine from June 2019 through June 2020, transporting it from the West Coast for distribution in Long Island and New Jersey.

Two of the other individuals in the case have since accepted guilty pleas.

Fetty was recently arrested in New Jersey after a video recording of a phone call from December 2021 allegedly saw him threaten a man’s life. In the clip, he referred to the individual as a “rat.” The call violated the conditions of his release, and his $500,000 bond was revoked. “During this video, the defendant is shown holding a gun and pointing it toward the defendant,” the affidavit for his arrest read. “The defendant then says to John Doe, ‘Imma kill you and everybody you with,’ which he then repeats one more time.”
