Drake Calls for Tory Lanez to Be Freed From Prison: 'Free Up T'

"I know they don't want to hear me say that," he added while appearing on Adin Ross' stream.

During his 'Drizzmas Giveaway' stream with controversial Kick streamer Adin Ross, Drake seemingly supported incarcerated rapper Tory Lanez.

At one point during the stream, as seen below, Drizzy took a moment to express his excitement for Young Thug's first new material following his release from jail earlier this year. "I can't wait 'till Thug drops," he said. "Drake and Thugger, of course." Drake then looked at the chat, with messages from viewers celebrating Thug's freedom, and he appeared to add, "Free up T, man."

He repeated his comments and admitted, "I know they don't want to hear me say that, but free up T."

Tory Lanez was sentenced to ten years in prison last year for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. He is currently in prison and has maintained his innocence. He has been repeatedly accused of trying to intimidate and silence Megan throughout the trial and allegedly ran a misinformation campaign against her from behind bars. Earlier this month, she said she had obtained proof of his harassment and requested a restraining order.

In February, Drizzy called for Tory Lanez's freedom in a post on his Instagram Stories. "3 you," he wrote alongside a picture of the rapper. On her song "Hiss," released just a month before Drake's direct call for Lanez to be freed, Megan told people dissing her and supporting Lanez to "schedule a conjugal visit or somethin'."

Drake and Adin Ross' stream on Thursday, Dec. 26 saw them give away some huge gifts to viewers including $100,000 for a Toronto-based artist or entrepreneur, a vacation for a couple, a trip for two to see Drake perform in Australia next year, two lots of $250,000, a luxury car, one year of rent, and cars for three families.

Besides the gifts Drizzy helped facilitate on Thursday, he also referenced Kendrick Lamar's "Euphoria" diss while praising frequent collaborator Sexyy Red.
