Drake Could Dethrone Himself at No. 1 Next Week

Looks like "Nice For What" could finally push "God's Plan" out of the top spot.

Despite only releasing three solo songs so far this year, along with a handful of features, Drake has dominated the charts since he released "God's Plan" in January. The song has sat at the top spot on Billboard's Hot 100 chart for 11 weeks running, but it looks like Dizzy might finally be dethroned from next week's chart according to Billboard. Thankfully for Drake, though, it turns out he's going to be the one snatching the No. 1 spot from himself.

The potential stats that Billboard have reported put Drake's latest, "Nice for What," as next week's prospective No. 1 song on the Hot 100. Released on April 6, "Nice for What" is estimated to debut with over 50 million U.S. streams and 75,000 downloads sold in the week ending April 12. While that's not quite as impressive as "God's Plan," which was streamed 82.4 million times during its first week, it's still a massive achievement for the 6 God.

Meanwhile, "God's Plan" is likely to come in at No. 2 with over 40 million U.S. streams and 30,000 sold. Regardless, he'll continue to dominate the year in the lead-up to his currently untitled follow-up to Views and More Life.

Drake is setting chart records left and right in 2018, and with "Nice for What" potentially hitting the No. 1 spot, he could be the 13th artist to ever replace themselves at No. 1. The last time that happened was Justin Bieber in 2016, when "Love Yourself" knocked "Sorry" off the top of the charts.

If "Nice for What" hits the No. 1 spot on the chart, Drake will bag himself his fifth No. 1 single and garner the 30th single to start atop the Hot 100, becoming only the fourth artist with multiple No. 1 debuts on the chart. It'll also be his 25th Hot 100 top 10 single, tying him with Elvis Presley for the fourth-most top 10 singles from solo male artists.
