DaBaby Addresses 'Fake' MAGA Concert Flyer: 'I Dodged That Bullet'

Last month, the rapper called "fake news" on a poster that claimed he would be performing at a MAGA Valentine's Day event in DC.

DaBaby has finally set the record straight on claims that he’ll be performing at a MAGA Valentine’s Day event in Washington, DC.

In a new BigBoyTV interview, the Charlotte rapper was asked about a flyer for the event, originally shared by conservative news account Patriot Takes — which the rapper had already shut down on social media.

"I don't know what the fuck that's about," DaBaby said around the 20-minute mark in the clip above. "I don't know. I'm steering clear of… I'm no politician right now. It's like I say, like, I'm much more wise, man."

The "BOP" hitmaker added that he was just as surprised as anyone else when the flyer started to circulate online. "It was one of them things, like, when I first saw it I'm like, 'What the hell is that?'" he continued. "I don't know nothing about that. You get what I'm saying? … It was an AI flyer that I saw. It wasn't even a real picture of me."

When Big Boy showed the flyer to clarify if it’s the same one he saw, DaBaby confirmed it was. "That ain’t even me," he added.

"I'm like, 'Look, this right on time.' They know that boy got a hit record," he joked. "They know he got this album coming. I'm like, 'Uhuh, no you don't.' Like, 'Oh, they working.'"

Initially, DaBaby didn’t want to comment on it, but then he felt as though he was forced to after some believed it was real. "They ain't never as quick to believe the truth as they is some bullshit," he said. "They trying to fuck up a n***a's Valentine’s Day… I dodged that bullet, they tripping. Like, I ain’t got nothing to do with politics."

He also indicated that he’s not interested in talking politics, because it’s not what he’s about. "I ain’t got nothing say about no politics," he concluded.

The poster advertised an event called 'MAGA Is in the Air,' but the Charlotte rapper has made it clear he won’t be appearing at it, if it even is a real event.
