NBC Miami reports that Chicago rapper Hellabandz was shot and killed at a Miami Beach nightclub, with another injured. Real name Ameer Golston, Hellabandz had achieved some success in his hometown and was on good terms with Lil Durk. Upon hearing the news, the fellow Chicago rapper posted his condolences. "Rip to my dawg, love you 4ever hella Bandz," he tweeted. Golston was shot in an altercation at the Cameo nightclub.

"During our investigation we’ve learned Mr. Golston has a violent criminal history," Miami Beach Police Department explained. "We continue to ask the public for their assistance in identifying those responsible for this shooting. A potential subject vehicle was located not far from the scene. While another fled. A pursuit ensued. Our officer witnessed an occupant display a firearm from within the vehicle and later lost sight of that vehicle. A third vehicle was located near 83 Street and Collins Avenue which also fled."

Another man was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center to be treated for his injuries, and is expected to make a full recovery. A police pursuit ensued when they chased the third vehicle, but two police officers crashed in the chaos that unfolded. "Thankfully the officers only suffered minor injuries. The male subjects and vehicle fled the scene," they added. "We have a lot of work ahead of us."
