In an explosive rant shared on Twitter, Cardi B has made it clear that she’s had enough of the rising cost of groceries across the United States.

Prior to sharing the video, the rapper expressed her thoughts on how much groceries are costing Americans amid inflation. "Naaaaaa grocery shopping prices are ridiculous right now 😑," she wrote. "You might as well eat outside !!"

She went further on the issues in her expletive-filled rant, which she shared alongside the caption “PSA.”

“Let me tell you something, when I be complaining about food prices and y’all motherfuckers be like, ‘Ain’t you rich? Why you complaining about lettuce, why you complaining about this?’” she said. “That just goes to show me when you become successful, when you have money, you’re gonna fucking-, you’re gonna go broke soon because you’re not budgeting.”

She said that she gets a “summary” of the money spent on groceries each week, and she noticed just how much the prices had risen over the past few years. “I went to a supermarket, I’m seeing that everything tripled up,” she said, noting lettuce could cost her upwards of $7 despite costing "like $2 a couple months ago." She called the situation "crazy," and she felt she had to say something because she "can only image what middle class people or people in the hood are motherfucking thinking."

Cardi said she has a “big plan” to combat inflation, and went on to ask that those responsible for the higher prices “put that shit the fuck down.”

Per CNN, grocery prices got 12 percent more expensive from the start of 2022 to November, while food overall got 10.6 percent more expensive. Someone pointed out to Cardi that prices might not be able to change based on her rant, since inflation is reflected by the economy, but she hoped her comments could at least make a difference. “Not necessarily cause of me but if we bring enough awareness to inflation you never know,” she wrote.”
