In a post shared to social media, former No Limit Records rapper Corey “C-Murder” Miller has announced he’s on a hunger strike in protest of “inhumane” prison conditions.

"Jan. 17, 2023, marked 21 years I Corey Miller have been in the Louisiana Penal system," Wrote C-Murder, who was sentenced to life in prison in 2009 for the 2002 fatal shooting of 16-year-old Steve Thomas. “I have been fighting for my health and freedom against this wrongful conviction and simultaneously fighting for my constitutional rights that were stripped away and violated by the penal system of Louisiana. An appeal was filed late December of 2022 and the DA & Judge of Louisiana has 30 days from Feb. 7, 2023 to answer"

Miller said that the conditions at Elayn Hunt Correctional Center have not improved during his time there, and he’s been on a hunger strike in protest of the conditions since February 23. "NOW MORE THAN EVER, that a quick strategic move is made as my health has significantly declined due to the prison system’s inhumane conditions and I am not getting proper medical treatment,” he continued. “This has taking a major toll on me but I refuse to give up. Please Stand with me.”

In concluding the post, he tagged Drake, Snoop Dogg, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Kim Kardashian, attorney Ben Crump, Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards, and others.

C-Murder has been behind bars for over 21 years for the murder of Thomas. In a statement released this week, his publicist Lisa Jackson and his manager Steven Johnson asked Kim Kardashian for her support in bringing attention to the protest and his appeal to overturn his conviction, which was filed in December 2022. His last appeal was denied by a judge despite two witnesses in the case recanting their statements.

C-Murder has long maintained his innocence.
