Following her DUI arrest earlier this month, Britney Spears shared a new Instagram post showing her reunited with her sons on a yacht.
Spears deactivated her Instagram account after news of her DUI arrest went public, but she has since reactivated on the platform, albeit with privacy set to only allow her followers to see what she posts. “Thank you guys for all your support… spending time with family and friends is such a blessing,” she wrote alongside her first post since her arrest. “Stay kind.”
In one of the videos she shared, she posed alongside her sons, 19-year-old Jayden James Federline and 20-year-old Sean Preston. She was notably estranged from her children, whom she shares with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, after the end of her conservatorship. She reportedly worked to repair her relationship with her two sons in the years that followed.
Spears appeared to be on a yacht with her children, and even shared a video of herself dancing to LL Cool J’s “Doin’ It” while on the yacht.
Britney Spears is due to appear in court for her DUI arrest on May 4. She was arrested earlier this month by California Highway Patrol. She was held for three hours before she was released, although further details of her arrest were not made public. According to sources, the 44-year-old pop star was transported to hospital so that authorities could determine her blood alcohol content.
“This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable,” said her manager, Cade Hudson. “Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time. Her boys are going to be spending time with her. Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well-being.”
When asked about her arrest, Spears’ ex-husband Sam Asghari offered a restrained response. “My focus has been on the Iran situation,” he said. “But as it goes for the past, I cannot skip the past. I think everybody makes mistakes, and everybody deserves privacy.”
