On Thursday, Forbes debuted a new profile focusing on the current state of Birdman and Slim Williams' Cash Money label. The feature highlights their history of complaints over unpaid royalties, starting with Mannie Fresh in 2005 to Lil Wayne, who spent almost five years in a legal battle with the label over his long-delayed Tha Carter V record. Speaking with Forbes, the two brothers denied all claims of royalty issues, placing the blame squarely on the artists.

"Contracts haven’t been done, producer agreements haven’t been done, samples haven’t been cleared," Cash Money's attorney and business manager explained. "Ninety percent of the time, it’s not that we owe them money. It’s that other people worked to get paid that they didn’t know had to get paid." As for Drake, who spent most of his years under the Cash Money umbrella, the two said they are "forever in business" with him.

On Scorpion, Drake rapped, "Soon as this album drop I’m out of the deal." Birdman and Slim are apparently refuting the famous line, however, although they didn't get any more specific than their "forever in business" claim. When asked for comment, Drake and Universal reportedly had nothing to say on the matter. Cash Money said that Drizzy is due to release one more project through the label.
