Within two weeks of sweeping the Grammy Awards with four trophies, Beyoncé took home a further four at the NAACP Image Awards on Thursday night.
Bey shared two of her awards with Megan Thee Stallion, with whom she collaborated on the “Savage” remix, while she also walked away with awards for “Black Parade” and “Brown Skin Girl.” That means she walked away with awards for Outstanding Female Artist, Outstanding Hip-Hop / Rap Song, Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration (Contemporary), and Outstanding Music Video/Visual Album.
There were plenty of other winners on Friday, however, with Drake notably picking up the Outstanding Male Artist award for “Laugh Now, Cry Later.” Chloe x Halle garnered two awards, both outstanding Soul / R&B Song and Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration (Traditional). After a string of critically acclaimed tracks and albums, Hit-Boy picked up an award for Outstanding Producer of the Year, and Trent Reznor’s score for Soul with Atticus Ross, Jon Batiste, and Tom MacDougall garnered the Outstanding Sountrack / Compilation Album award.
Bey’s wins at the Grammy Awards last week saw her break the record for most Grammy wins by a singer. With 28 Grammys under her belt, she topped bluegrass-country musician Alison Krauss, although the person with the most grammy wins remains conductor Georg Solti with 31.
