Beyoncé officially reached billionaire status last month, but her father, Mathew Knowles, says he’s "never" heard her talk about money.

In a recent interview with Page Six, Knowles said that his megastar daughter isn’t “motivated by money,” and that it’s never been her primary concern with her career.

“I’ve never heard Beyoncé ever talk about money … It’s always been, ‘How can I make my fans happy? How can I be the best at what I’m doing?’” he said. “Her money came with the success, but that has never been a goal of hers. And I love that about her.”

Bey’s continued success with her world tours, most recently with the Cowboy Carter tour, has cemented her as one of the most successful musicians of all-time. That’s not to mention her side hustles, which include SirDavis whisky and Cécred haircare.

Knowles said he's proud of his daughter for her achievements but made it clear that her financial success isn’t as important as her artistic accolades.

“That’s just not Beyoncé. That’s not who she is,” he said. “She’s motivated by being the very best. She’s motivated by making her fans happy and. giving back to the community as well.”

Forbes named Bey the fifth musician to become a billionaire last month. She joins an exclusive club that also features her husband, Jay-Z, as well as Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and Bruce Springsteen.

Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour in 2023 was particularly lucrative for Bey, grossing almost $600 million, while the Cowboy Carter tour earned over $400 million. The merch earnings from the Cowboy Carter tour brought in $50 million, too, and she earned $60 million from her 2019 Netflix documentary, Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé.
