Dreamville's Bas had a big presence on Revenge of the Dreamers III when it debuted earlier this year, and he's keeping that momentum going with Spilled Milk Vol. 1, the first in a series of releases that will find him collaborating with other artists. For the first volume, he's teamed up with EarthGang, J.I.D, and Ari Lennox, among others.
"Fried Rice" sees Bas and J.I.D joining forces over a bass-heavy KQuick-produced beat, while "Amnesia" takes more of a dancehall approach. It's a varied listen, thanks in part not only to the production but also to the guests involved.
Bas first revealed the project earlier this week, promising that he'll be releasing Spilled Milk episodically.
Complex recently caught up with Bas, who shared stories from the Revenge of the Dreamers III sessions. "I think we made several albums in there, honestly," he explained. "A hundred-something songs came out of those sessions."
