In a post shared on social media, 50 Cent shared that his grandfather had passed away.
"My old man is tuff act to follow, he sacrificed for all of us," wrote 50 Cent on Instagram alongside a series of photos of his grandfather. "He made me me smile every time I saw him. The last time he went to the hospital he was dehydrated so the nurse couldn't find a vein. I came in, I said pop you alright? He said no, she stick me again and I'm a start shooting. LOL I almost fell out! South side we out side WTF!"
In another post sharing a video from his recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter, for which he brought $3.5 million in cash to the photo shoot, he added, "You do know none of shit really matters, we can't take it with us. I lost my grandfather last night, now he can go everywhere with me."
While 50 Cent didn't disclose the age of his grandfather, he previously shared a post celebrating his 85th birthday in November 2017, which would have made him either 91 or 92. "Had to see the real OG grandpa," he wrote alongside that post. "He said why you didn't bring no girls wit ya? LOL."

Fif has spoken about his close relationship with his grandparents in the past. In a 2009 interview with The Guardian, he said that he went to live with his grandparents after his mother died. "After my mom died, I went to live with my grandparents," he shared. "There were nine of us living on my grandfather's salary, and you've got to pay the bills, so there ain't much there for you."
