Young Thug may be dealing with a lot right now—from the RICO indictment, to the loss of labelmate Lil Keed—but his ex Jerrika Karlae has revealed that the MC has still managed to remain in “great spirits” despite it all.
As she told The Progress Report Podcast in the below clip, per HotNewHipHop, she “spoke” with Thugger as all of this has transpired.
“He’s doing good, actually, and he’s in great spirits,” she said. “I feel like this is just a moment for him to learn a lot of lessons.”
If anything, the rapper is doing more to make sure she’s in a healthy state of mind amid all the commotion. As Karlae explained, Thug was “giving me advice.”
“He was like, ‘Keep your head in the game, wake up every day and put a smile on your face and be thankful, and we good,’” she said. “He was like, ‘I love my fans’ and stuff like that, and that was it.”
Just last week, Thugger was denied bond by Judge Ural D. Glanville over concerns of witnesses being threatened in the case, after prosecutors quoted lyrics from cuts like So Much Fun song “Just How It Is” when arguing for him staying behind bars.
Thug was charged with conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act in the 56-count indictment against him and other YSL members, like Gunna, Yak Gotti, YSL Duke, and others after his May 9 arrest. Gunna’s bond was also denied, as prosecutors accused him of being in a “command” role in YSL.
