Pusha-T, No Malice Remember Late Father With Touching Tributes

The hip-hop community in Virginia and beyond is sending prayers and well wishes to Pusha-T and No Malice, following the death of their father Gene Elliott Thornton Sr.

The brothers announced the loss of their father on Monday, four months after their mother, Mildred Thornton, passed.

“I love you Dad,” Push wrote on Instagram. “You taught me to remain poised, to always be calculated, to be prideful, and to respect hustle and hard work but to know the difference between the two. I am who I am because of you and I’ve always been proud to be your son. We are all gonna miss you… R.I.P. Gene Elliott Thornton Sr. P.S. We all know what this is abt, kiss my mom for me.”

Push’s post included a picture of Gene sitting with his grandson, Nigel Brixx Thornton, and an accompanying video of Push, Nige, and Gene embracing each other outside. As for Malice, he kept his post focused on faith, saluting his father’s favorite bible verse, Psalm 34:19.

“Right now I clutch it with both hands,” he wrote. “We all love you dad. You were everything a father is supposed to be. ‘Many are the afflictions of the righteous: But the LORD delivereth him out of them ALL.’ Psalm‬ ‭34:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬.”

Sending their love, heart emojis, and uplifting messages in the comment sections were Karen Civil, Steven Victor, Jadakiss, N.O.R.E., Pharrell, and Vory.

“T and Mildred are together again and with Master 🙏🏾,” Pharrell wrote under Push’s post. Sending love, light and positive vibrations. Love you guys 💛”
