Moneybagg Yo is back, and he’s tapped Kodak Black for his latest single.
“Rocky Road,” which marks his first lead single since his 2021 effort A Gangsta’s Pain, was released on Monday (May 16) alongside a visual featuring the two. In the new track, Yak and Moneybagg exchange verses as they rap about self-reflection and repping their cities over a rapid-fire beat. The video, directed by Young Chang, includes shots of the two performing on top of a roof, with the storyline following a man as he attempts to retaliate over a fight.
“I Been Running Wit Sum Gremlins Yelling KTB , GLEE 🤝🥷⚔️,” Bagg wrote on Instagram ahead of the song’s release.
“Rocky Road” is not the first time the MCs have teamed up on a song. Back in 2018, Yak appeared on Bagg’s 2018 effort Reset, when he lent a verse to track “Lower Level.” Three years later, the pair joined Yung Bleu on his 2021 album Moon Boy via “Angels Never Cry.”
While this is Bagg’s first new single in a minute, it’s been a big week of releases for Kodak in particular. On Friday, he was featured across Kendrick Lamar’s long-awaited fifth studio album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, where he raps on standout track “Silent Hill.”
