Premiere: Watch Method Man's Electric Video for "The Last 2 Minutes"

The legendary Wu-Tang spitter has released his first video of 2022 with “The Last 2 Minutes,” which acts as a follow-up to “Another 2 Minutes."

Method Man is back.

The legendary Wu-Tang Clan spitter has released his first music video of 2022 for track “The Last 2 Minutes,” as a proper follow-up to “2 Minutes of Your Time” and “Another 2 Minutes,” off his respective Meth Lab 1 and Meth Lab 2: The Lithium projects.

In the visual, premiering above, Method Man can be seen teasing the upcoming Meth Lab 3: The Rehab with plenty of bright lights and brighter bars. The track itself, originally shared in November, contemplates what would’ve happened if legends of our time and of the past weren’t taken so soon, and finds the artist in good lyrical form as always.

“The song wasn’t our first pick,” Method Man reveals exclusively to Complex. “We were going with another song off the album and we had a ‘COVID situation’ and we had to come up with a treatment in like two days for the record. However the song ‘The Last 2 Minutes’ is a continuation of ‘Another 2 Minutes,’ off of the Meth Lab 2 album and ‘2 Minutes of Your Time,’ off of the Meth Lab 1. We just had fun with this one and made the best of our situation at the time.”

The track also features battle rapper Iron Mic; Meth calls him a “solid individual” who “came to work when it was time to work.”

The Wu-Tang MC’s legacy has expanded far beyond music at this point, and his most recent involvement in 50 Cent’s Power Book II: Ghost has put his acting chops on full display as a series regular. In an interview with Metro, Method Man said his “very calculated” character Davis Maclean is destined to play “chess while everyone else is playing checkers.”
