On March 7th, Bad Bunny touched down in Tokyo for an exclusive, one-night, invite-only concert for Spotify’s Billions Club Live Series. If you missed it — or even if you were lucky enough to be there — you can now watch the full concert experience on Spotify.
In addition to the concert, the film features unseen interviews where Bad Bunny reflects on how it feels being in Japan.
“I never imagined that one day I’d be doing a show in Tokyo,” he said. “I just enjoy it and feel grateful. Music and the love I have for what I do have brought me this far.”
The Billions Club Live Series celebrates artists who have multiple songs with over 1 billion streams. Previous Billions Club films have focused on Ed Sheeran, Miley Cyrus, and The Weeknd. Bad Bunny currently has 30 songs (and counting) that have reached this threshold.
Japan has long been a place Benito has shown appreciation for, especially in his 2021 song “Yonaguni,” where he actually sings the outro in Japanese.
During the Tokyo show, Bad Bunny had special messages for the crowd. He instructed them to “Love as much as you can. Love yourself. Love without fear,” and also declared, “This show is proof that music has no language… Also, love has no language.”
Not only did he give inspirational speeches, but the performance was also special. Benito added a Japanese verse to his smash hit “Tití Me Preguntó,” and had reggaeton legends Jowell & Randy make appearances. If you want to know more about the show, Complex was able to attend. Bad Bunny now stands just two songs away from breaking The Weeknd’s record (31) and becoming the artist with the most songs over 1 billion streams in Spotify history. He has at least two tracks that are close: “Tarot,” featuring Jhayco, and “UN DÍA” with J Balvin, Tainy, and Dua Lipa. It is only a matter of time before Bad Bunny makes history once again.
