Republicans Blame Candace Owens and Charlie Kirk for Kanye’s Exit From Politics

Conservatives feel that the Turning Point USA reps pushed Kanye away.

Conservative pundits and personalities believe that Charlie Kirk and Candace Owens are to blame for the party losing its last celebrity with reach and a grip on the culture. The Turning Point USA representatives became close to Kanye West during his long sunken journey into MAGA-dom. And plenty of the cons think they overplayed that relationship to the point that West abandoned politics altogether.

The Daily Beast reports that conservative group chats and other outlets are full of right-wing people discussing the ways in which Kirk and Owens pushed West away from their movement.

“They really over-grifted that situation,” former Gateway Pundit reporter Lucian Wintrich told the website.

And while plenty of folks like Lana Del Rey are probably happy to see West move away from reactionary politics toward music, the upset conservatives do have a point. You can draw a straight line from West withdrawing from the political sphere to Owens attaching his name to a line of clothing encouraging black people to leave the Democratic Party, a line he says he had no hand in making.

Owens said that the logo for her "Blexit" apparel of a black person standing in an X formation was “created by my dear friend and fellow superhero Kanye West.”

West categorically denied this claim before announcing that he was done with campaigning.

"I introduced Candace to the person who made the logo and they didn’t want their name on it so she used mine. I never wanted any association with Blexit. I have nothing to do with it," he wrote on Twitter. "My eyes are now wide open and now realize I’ve been used to spread messages I don’t believe in. I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative."

While many conservatives are upset at the about-face, others are taking a second to say "I told you so." Ben Shapiro gloated over the fact that he pointed out it was unwise to rely on the notoriously volatile rapper.
