Singer Files Claim That Nipsey Hussle Estate Owes Money Over "Hussle & Motivate" Contribution

Tasleema Yasin filed a claim against the late rapper's estate, and is seeking a share of a song she worked on.

Singer Tasleema Yasin is threatening to sue the estate of Nipsey Hussle. As TMZ first reported, Yasin has filed a creditor's claim in Los Angeles County Superior Court, saying she's owed a cut of the late rapper's song "Hussle & Motivate."

Yasin claims that she wrote a four-note vocal phrase on the Victory Lap song and performed several key components of the track. In the court documents filed on September 5, Yasin reveals that she collaborated with Hussle on the track back in 2016, and claims that he never obtained her permission to release it on Victory Lap. She claims that she's owed a cut as co-author under US copyright law.

Via the complaint:

Yasin has not determined what amount she is seeking for her work on "Hussle." She's asking Nipsey's estate to do an accounting of the money earned on the song and offer her a fair share. Victory Lap became Nipsey's final album after the rapper was killed in front of his clothing store in Los Angeles.

Nipsey's estate has yet to respond to the complaint publicly.
