Nelly quickly shut down a question about hall passes, to the delight of his wife Ashanti.
In the latest episode of Complex’s GOAT Talk, the couple covered everything from throwback 2000s trends and red carpet regrets to green flags.
Around the seven-minute mark in the video above, Ashanti pulled a card asking to name their “GOAT hall pass.”
“That’s a dumbass question,” Nelly jokingly scoffed. “Who do y’all think y’all about to set up with that shit? There’s no way, I’m 50,” he added as Ashanti clapped in approval.
“I could never fall for that trap. Who the hell answered that with their wife sitting across from them?” Nelly continued. “Gotta be an idiot.”
Ashanti, clearly loving the response, gave her husband a high five.
Elsewhere in the episode, the couple reflected on being back together after tying the knot in December 2023 and welcoming their son, Kareem, in July 2024.
When asked about the “GOAT thing about being back together now versus then,” Ashanti said, “Having a child and, like, having a real family unit.”
“For me, it’s the thighs, baby,” Nelly joked, as Ashanti burst into laughter. “Like, you always had ‘em. But them thangs now? Them thangs thangin’.”
