Mustard Says Artists Should Avoid ‘Tactics’ When Asked What Drake Should Do Next

Despite being asked about Drizzy, Mustard made it clear that he wasn’t “speaking at Drake or for him.”

Mustard was recently asked about Drake's feud with Kendrick Lamar.

In a new interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood on Monday, Mustard responded to a question about Drake’s next moves following his widely perceived loss in the rap battle against K.Dot plus his Grammy sweep with “Not Like Us,” and getting trolled during his Super Bowl Halftime Show.

“I know you can't speak for him. What the hell does Drake do after all this?” asked Big Boy around the 12-minute mark.

“I don't know, man. I actually don't think about what he could do. I have no idea. I kinda try to stay aligned with just pure shit, like, just being pure and being on the right side of things and not doing no tactics and gimmicks,” said Mustard, 34.

“I'm not speaking at Drake or for him,” he clarified. “But a lot of shit that's going on—it's like the tactics, the things that you do just to get attention. You don't need to do that. Just make music, man, and make good music and you'll be fine. So I don't know.”

Mustard didn’t mention any specific “antics” at the time of the interview. While it’s anyone’s guess what he could have been referring to, Drake made headlines after he filed a lawsuit last month against Universal Music Group for alleged defamation, harassment, and deceptive business practices for their promotion of “Not Like Us.”

Drake is currently touring through Australia with his Anita Max Win Tour. A joint album with Partynextdoor called $ome $exy $ongs 4 U is set to be released on Feb. 14.
