Lil Zay Osama is among six men charged by federal prosecutors in connection with a violent home invasion and alleged kidnapping plot.

According to a legal document reviewed by Complex, the 28-year-old Chicago drill rapper (born Isaiah Dukes) is named as one of six defendants in a federal case tied to a planned robbery in Winnetka targeting cryptocurrency and other valuables.

Prosecutors allege the group—which also includes defendants Dashun Brown, 24, David Franklin, 24, Anthony Ramsey, 22, Khiel Dukes, 30, and Jalen Chambers, 24—worked together in early March 2026 to carry out a coordinated robbery and kidnapping scheme.

According to the indictment, the men planned to steal cryptocurrency, cash, and property by force, and to restrain a victim during the robbery.

Authorities say they used stolen vehicles, carried firearms, and coordinated their movements through cell phone communications in the days leading up to the incident.

On March 8, 2026, prosecutors say Brown drove Chambers, Franklin, and others in a stolen vehicle to a home in Winnetka where two victims lived.

Brown allegedly posed as a food delivery driver to get someone to open the door. When Victim B answered, the group was accused of rushing inside.

Once inside, prosecutors say the men pointed guns, physically restrained Victim B, and demanded access to a safe, computers, and online accounts believed to contain cryptocurrency.

The victim was allegedly held while the group tried to obtain access to digital assets.

The indictment also describes coordination during the incident, including alleged phone communications between Chambers and Isaiah Dukes, in which instructions were relayed about what information was needed to access cryptocurrency.

Other co-conspirators are also accused of communicating by phone during the break-in and meeting afterward to account for what was taken.

After the incident, prosecutors say the group fled the scene in the stolen vehicle and later met with additional individuals.

The charges include conspiracy to kidnap and conspiracy to commit robbery affecting interstate commerce. Prosecutors are also seeking forfeiture of alleged proceeds from the crime, including about 111,300 dollars, along with firearms and ammunition said to have been used.

Prosecutors first brought charges against three of the defendants on March 23. On April 16, a superseding indictment expanded the case to include three additional people. Among those added in the April filing was 28-year-old Lil Zay Osama, who now lives in Los Angeles.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for Andrew Boutros announced the charges on Tuesday (April 28). Federal officials also said a seventh man was taken into custody that morning and is expected to face charges.

The rapper’s attorney, Michael Clancy, said the rapper is seeking a speedy trial, per the Chicago Sun-Times.

"My client was not present at the robbery and he did not set up this robbery,” Clancy said.
