GloRilla is giving back in a big way just in time for the holidays.
The 25-year-old rapper, a 2017 graduate of Melrose High School in Memphis, surprised students at her alma mater on Wednesday with a donation of $25,000 to enhance the school’s educational resources.
According to a press release, the funds will create a new library space called The Gloria H. Woods Media Center, named after the rapper's real name. It will feature updated technology, flexible seating, and a collaborative learning environment to promote literacy, benefiting students and the surrounding Orange Mound community.
"It feels great. I feel blessed that I'm able to even do that, you know?" Glo told Action News 5's Kelli Cook.
"I always wished somebody could do that when I was going to school and so the fact that I have the ability to do it now, it just—it warms my heart," Glo added, per WREG News Channel 3.
The upgraded library is expected to be completed by summer.
